We use the yarn from the Black Welsh Mountain (which gives our darker shades) and the Welsh Mountain (the oatmeal colour) sheep breeds. When we started out the Black Welsh was on the endangered breeds list. Now, having as it does, a commercial future it is abundant in England and Wales. Its natural properties are perfect for the outdoor life: Warmth, comfort, durability, strength and beauty. The wool also has the advantage of being naturally oiled which means it shrugs off dirt and makes it water resistant.
In the old days we use to shear the sheep by hand, spin the yarn by hand, then hand knit it to sell to you. As we have grown up, so we have to go through a few more processes - sending our fleeces to the British Wool Marketing board for grading and quality control. Then they go off to the spinners from where we receive the yarn ready to knit by machine and hand.
Ils élèvent donc eux-mêmes les moutons, les tondent, envoient la laine à un organisme indépendant pour le QC, puis à une filature ; après réception du fil, ils tricotent les pulls et les vendent sans intermédiaires.
Les tarifs sont très raisonnables : entre £89 et £99 pour pull col rond. Seul le pull à motifs Aran coûte vraiment plus cher (£155). Et il y a aussi des bonnets à £15.
Pas de stylisme sophistiqué, pas de mannequin pro, pas de photos qui font rêver, mais je pense que la qualité est bien là .
Note que le mannequin homme est plus épais que toi (il a de sacrés cuissots), donc le rendu serait sans doute plus loose sur toi.
