mais je sais qu’ils ont refait un peu les sizing donc oui faut demander à Paul

De tête ce n’était pas un travail sur le fit mais sur le sizing pour avoir un S qui taille plus comme un vrai S et pas comme un M
A l’époque je serais parti sur un M et Paul m’avais conseillé un S, et j’ai clairement bien fait de l’écouter. En tout cas c’est un super manteau je le porte quasi exclusivement depuis que je l’ai acheté

Je suis curieux j’avais essayé la pièce via vinted il y a quelques années et ce que j’avais essayé était rikiki pour un M et quand j’ai questionné Paul l’an dernier avec l’idée d’en prendre un, il m’a conseillé le M .
J’ai acheté le mien en novembre 2021
et je crois me souvenir avoir lu Paul écrire sur un changement sur les sizing peut être l’année d’après (plus sûr exactement) sur Styleforum ; après a confirmer avec lui

il avait faite une version spécial en pré commande pour styleforum si je ne me trompe pas c’est uniquement la longueur qui changeait ce qui est une très bonne chose

The sizing has been honed over the past few years to ensure it is among the most reliably « true to size » of any of our garments.
We made some adjustments to the size three years ago, as some of you have noted in previous posts, and since then, the general guideline — « if you’re e.g. a 50 chest, go for size M » — has proven to be a reliable method for selecting the right size.
I also always recommend cross-referencing the measurements with coats or overcoats you already own, especially if you have specific preferences in terms of fit.
Personal factors also come into play, of course! For instance, if you prefer an oversized style, you might want to size up, even if the chart suggests otherwise. On the other hand, if your primary concern is layering underneath — especially in colder climates where thicker sweaters or multiple layers are a must — it might also influence your size choice. We size the coat with a standard layering scenario in mind, but I understand that everyone’s use-case is subtly different, particularly when it comes to a tweed overcoat that can serve various functions.

Paul me conseille un L ).
Le M correspond à ma vraie taille, mais le L taille légèrement plus petit que le parisian coat que j’ai en 48 et que j’avais upsize.
Donc ça se tente.

À titre perso, ce que je constate c’est que les pants SEH sont TTS, et les hauts faut pas hésiter à upsize si vous avez un buste un peu fort.
Pas nécessairement, mais en général, IMO, TTS, t’as pas toujours la marge nécessaire pour enfiler x couches en dessous.
Et comme Paul me disait, c’est d’autant plus logique sur un manteau d’upsize.

I find it hard to advise conclusively what « TTS » is because everyone’s judgement of comfortable and appearance will slightly differ!
However, if I base TTS on the data that is our sales, I can say that the balmacaan is very rarely returned on the grounds that it is too small or too large!
Thus a man who considers himself a « size L » or a « 52 chest » can be on fairly safe ground ordering a size L.
Of course, he has to envisage how he will wear the coat, and it is unrealistic to expect a balmacaan to fit over a shirt, sweater, and jacket all at the same time – unrealistic, that is, in the context of the measurement and advice and « as worn » photographs given on our website. (Other makers of other balmacaans might have a different approach and thus a different deduction of what is TTS.)
It is funny: this time of year when we sell coats, customers are more likely to tell me that they are « too large » and I have strong suspicion that this is because they are trying on the coat at home with their summer attire – e.g. a t-shirt or a shirt, or maybe even a vest. But in the middle of winter, we seldom hear that our coats are too large: presumably gentlemen receive the coat on a winter’s day and try it on over at the very least a thick shirt, and maybe a sweater as well. A strange quirk / observation!

I just hope me choosing to go for a L sized one knowing it is probably not my true size will work with the oversize look I want, and not make it look like I’m swimming in a an obviously too big coat.
Because I’m definitely not a “52 chest” man haha.

For what it is worth, I am a UK 40 (EU 50) chest, and could not countenance wearing any size other than size M in the balmacaan.
The size L would be better than the size L, but would give me too much room when worn with just a shirt (plus maybe a cardigan). The size M gives me both: a good silhouette and no sensation of « swimming » when wearing it over not much, but still a fair amount of space when worn with a very thick sweater.

Je commence à chercher une belle veste de pluie courte qui ne fasse pas trop technique et s’intégrerait bien dans ma rotation. Elle semble vraiment très jolie

Mais trop ! Et ça a l’air bien pensé , marre de ma Rains font les boutons ont explosés au bout de 3 mois
J’ai juste une chemise de chez eux mais c’est cool. Je pense que niveau qualité etc tu peux y aller les yeux fermés. Par rapport à Rains ça va être le jour et la nuit je pense

J’ai jamais commandé direct mais fait une recherche dans ce topic ça a été souvent abordé
